On April 15, I climbed into my car and started my 59th trip to the International Home Furnishings Market. I’ve written about market before… the acres of showroom space, the people, the merchandise… but this market was different. Attendance seemed better to me, at least where I shopped. There was excitement in the air – a tangible sense of optimism that had been lacking for quite a while.
Perhaps one of the biggest sources of optimism was this; manufacturers had done what retailers everywhere had wanted them to do – introduce some really fresh new product. We’ve ALL grown tired of brown boxes and dull fabrics, and the manufacturers did something about it. Comfort, function, and color were on display – the most in recent memory – and we took advantage of it. We’ve got surprises for YOU coming to Bowen Town & Country Furniture over the next several weeks. Here’s a little preview…
• Incredibly comfortable, colorful recliners and motion furniture from Southern Motion… proudly made in Mississippi. My favorite piece was an ottoman that opens into a comfortable extra seat for your home.
• Your kids are going to love our new line of furniture from Berg… it’s a room full of furniture in one piece – imagine a single piece of furniture that includes a bed (or beds), a desk, plenty of storage, and even a play area… built like a tank in the USA in your choice of finishes.
• Beautiful new American-made bedrooms and casual dining sets from Gat Creek.
• An amazing assortment of leather sofas and sleepers from Bradington-Young made right here in NC – at prices you’d expect to pay for imports.
• Solid cherry bedrooms made just up the road in Elkin and Galax… with most of the lumber being logged within 100 miles of the plant… American craftsmanship at very reasonable prices.
All this new merchandise will start coming in before long and we’ll have new things to show you for weeks to come. Stop by Bowen Town & Country Furniture soon – we’ll share our excitement with you! We are located at 1910 Mooney Street, right off Stratdford Road…near Hanes Mall.
